The author treats the Dirichlet and Neumann problems for elliptic equations and the related Schauder regularity theory, and examines how those results apply to the boundary regularity of biholomorphic mappings. He studies the ?-Neumann problem, then considers applications to the complex function theory of several variables and to the Bergman projection.

A great deal of information about Poland is presented here. The 180 maps cover 1000 years, since Poland adopted Western Christianity. Essays include a chronology, functioning of the Sejm (Parliament), and the prehistory and evolution of the Slavic languages group. However, poor cartography mars this diligent effort. Many of the maps are very busy, with complex shading variations and other symbols (such as tribal migrations) superimposed. Extraneous information, e.g., tribes in nearby regions, makes it difficult to pick out the important points. Most maps have insets summarizing events illustrated.
