The game takes place in the near future in the Chernobyl exclusion zone. The player will become a stalker - a hunter of the "artifacts" which emit energy anomalous zone. As you progress through the game, he will visit Dead Wood, the cities of Pripyat and Chernobyl, gets inside the sarcophagus of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, will be held on the really existing places in the midst of tragedy ...

... Returning from the blazing radiation zone, the player will sell the extracted anomalous formations underground dealers and scientists in research camps on the border zone. For the money the player will purchase equipment, weapons and protective suits, which will penetrate into previously inaccessible areas.
