Best of all, ArtRage doesn't force you to learn complex tool settings, it lets you get right down to painting with tools you already know how to use.
If it's time to take your sketchbook digital, check out this freehand-drawing app. ArtRage doesn't use preset shapes; instead, you can adjust the opacity, the width, and the color of each drawing tool. BMP, JPEG, or PNG files can be imported as ghosted images, allowing you to trace shapes and fill them in.
You can hide all the palettes with a right click to get more drawing area, then unhide them to switch brushes or colors. We didn't have a drawing tablet, but the speed of our mouse strokes seemed to affect how thickly the tool applied the medium. ArtRage allows you to send your masterpieces via e-mail or export them to the same BMP, JPEG, or PNG formats.
The interface isn't perfect, as the lack of tool tips made selecting a tool more a matter of guesswork than a choice. But despite this minor flaw, ArtRage provides an enjoyable drawing experience.
