A Add this modified wlsrvc.dll to your Windows Sidebar directory then Right Click on it and choose "Patch Vista Library..."

Q4: How do I install new gadgets?

Option 1: Gadget Installer (by Thomas Pleasance) automatically installs gadgets you double click.

Option 2: Manual Install. Use 7-Zip archiver and Right Click on the .Gadget file, extract it to a subdirectory of the same name, copy it to the Gadgets or Shared Gadgets folder in "%ProgramFiles%Windows Sidebar\" and add .Gadget to the extracted gadget folder's name.

AddOn Info: Includes Windows Vista Fonts (Segoe UI, Calibri & Simhei). XP addon includes Wireless LAN API (KB940541) (an updated version of KB918997) so its compatible with both Xable and RyanVM UpdatePacks (or none); 2k3 addon has a ATL.DLL file from XP to fix remaining bug left over from VAIO.
These addons are used with nLite or the RyanVM Integrator to slipstream Alky and the Sidebar into your OS install disc. (If you use none of these programs you can find a Windows Sidebar Installer Here.)

Vector Editing. Flexibility first! Any object you create is editable all the time. Illustration Package. The combination of Real-DRAW's tools allows you to create drawings in your style - illustrations, 3D render simulations, airbrush work, you name it - you have the control.

Multimedia Graphics generator. With Real-DRAW you can design a whole scene and add fully-functional buttons (which is now easier than ever using Packages). * New customizable interface (menu, toolbars, shortcuts, hide toolbars, dockable, stackable (tab) etc...).
* GIF output/input (but not in slicer yet) - GIF plugin is no longer needed.
* Folders in Texture Combo - simply add subfolders to the /Textures folder, put some image files in them and start RD. these then should appear near the top in texture combo box.
* Pressure sensitive pen now works on whole pressure range > 255.
* Color Memory - now Right Click on box will also add color, left click will recall the color.
* The size/position of multiselected/grouped objects can be edited via Dimensions panel.
* Status bar now display the size/position of multiselected/grouped objects (within mouse manipulation).
* Multiselected/grouped objects can be rotated/fliped. Limitation: temporarily multiselected (not permanently grouped) objects cannot be rotated by freehand Rotate (you can still use menu Object >> Rotate).
* Function "Smooth Node" finally makes the selected Bezier point smooth in both directions ;) Now you can convert Rectangle to Circle/Ellipse by change its points from Sharp to Smooth and without handle editing.
* Added the possibility to change the width/height of the selected object (object/multiselection/group/package) via keyboard (like object move but with SHIFT)
* Shift + arrow key = resize for 1 pixel
* Shift + CTRL + arrow key = resize for number of pixels defined by grid
* Solved(?) the problem with shortcuts and lost focus from the main window. If the focus i set in property pane, all shortcut keys (except the below mentioned) should be sent to the main application window.
* If you wish to switch focus back to main window (for example from Layers pane) and without the need to click anywhere in workspace or by selecting an object, simply press the ESC key. This will return the focus back to the main window.
* Added realtime dimensions indicator to status bar (X,Y => W x H). From now, if you create new object or change the object's Size/Position, you will see the real-time changes of object position (left/top corner)/size in RD status bar. The same apply for the rest of mouse dragging tools, like Selection rectangle, Export Crop,...
* Freehand (Pencil) tool can now be terminated via simple right click.
* Buttons in "Special Tools" toolbar now works as switches. Pressed button = activated pane.
* Added new UI and Pane visual themes (menu View/Interface View/Pane Themes).
* Added Load/Save/Reset UI/Panel layout. From now you can save/load your own custom UI layouts.
* Added CapsLock indicator to status bar.
* Menu View/Panes (previously View/Properties) is now sorted like "Special Tools" toolbar.

* !!! The RD rotate code is completely overhauled! The objects should no longer be deformed or resized!
* Fixed the Dimensions panel refresh after Object rotation.
* Fixed UI refresh bug if clicked on group/single object.

* The object numbers are shown in multiselection with group objects.

ArtSets. ArtSets organize the brushes in TwistedBrush into groups of 60 brushes. There are a variety of types of ArtSets, from standard art tools, specialize collections, patterns brushes, cloners, photo retouching brushes, image brushes, etc.

Select Colors. Color selections are plentitful with the included color palettes. The tools you expect are here, eye dropper, cropping, moving, line, box, ellipse, flood fill, gradiant, masking tools, text, drawing guides, brush rotate, brush cleaner etc.

Layers. TwistedBrush includes an advanced system called Layers. With layers you can split your work into transparent layers that sit on top on each others and allow for incredible editing and adjustment options even at the end stages of your painting. A wide range of layer blending modes exist including many not available in any other painting program.

Paper Textures. Use paper textures while you draw to give the feel and look of textured paper and canvas. Over 70 different surface textures are included.

Masks. Masks are the artists masks you may be familiar with if you've done traditional artwork. TwistedBrush has an extensive set of masking capabilities that you'll use to protect and manipulate areas of your work. Included is a magic wand with a number of different modes for creating your masks. Or use a common shape or one of the many masking brushes to create exactly the mask you need.

Filters. A filter allows for processing the image all at once. TwistedBrush includes the full range of image processing filters ready to use.

Tracing Paper. The tracing paper feature gives you the ability to turn your canvas into tracing paper so that you can see a reference image below it for use as a drawing guide. This is invaluable for many types of work.

Cloning. Cloning, taking image data from somewhere else and placing it into your painting, that is cloning. The source image for the TwistedBrush cloning brushes can be a different image or from another area of your current picture. The cloners can be used to render a photo as a artist drawing, or to touch-up a photo or do many things in-between.

Scripts. With scripts you can record your painting actions and play them back, recreating your painting from scratch. This has value for trying out different "what-if" scenarios, for teaching pusposes, for animation production when used with the AVI saving option or just for entertainment.

Pattern Brushes. There are a number of ArtSets that contain Pattern brushes. These brushes paint a pattern on your canvas as you paint. Adjust the size the pattern with the density slider. Categories of patterns include, surface, materials, nature and others.

Brush Shapes. Most any brush in TwistedBrush can be further enhanced with a shape.

Drawing Guides. Drawing guides are a visual aid that appears over your canvas to help you with perspective, distances, and general construction of your artwork. A large number of different drawing guides are included.

Image Brushes. Image brushes are powerful tools for both recreating the flow and feel of working with natural media but also for allowing for extraordinary painting effects. The Image Brushes : Basic ArtSet includes the brushes you need that when used in combination of captured images give you an unlimited supply of brushes.

Image Warp. When using the Image Warp tool you will be pulling, pushing, pinching, and stretching your image as if it was make of rubber or putty. These tools at the extreme case can be fun for wildly adjusting a photo as shown here. Texture Anarchy is a set of three Photoshop filters for creating textures and borders. Create a massive variety of seamless, infinite textures that range from realistic and organic to bizarre and surreal.

Three filters in the set.
The three plugins in this suite are Texture Explorer, Tiler Anarchy, and Edge Anarchy. Tiler Anachy creates procedural textures that will seamlessly tile. Edge Anarchy wraps its textures into customized edges and borders.

This means that plain old math is used to generate, extend, and output an image. Users of Bryce or similar 3D programs will be familiar with procedural textures, as they are used extensively to create the textures that make up rocks, grass, sand, and other surfaces.

Three filters in the set.
The three filters in this suite are Texture Explorer, Tiler Anarchy, and Edge Anarchy. All three plugins create procedural, repeating textures.

1 - Texture Explorer. This plugin creates seamless, procedural textures. The TAE textures are not based on any imported graphics, but rather, mathematical algorithms.
Texture Anarchy Explorer is set up as a series of 'rooms'. Each level gives you more powerful in accessing the underlying fractal noise and bump mapping that creates your textures.

2 - Tiler Anarchy. Tiler Texture Anarchy is very similar to TAE, but its transform properties are locked to certain proportions. This is so the algorithm can repeat itself successfully.
The Tiler is useful for 3D texture mapping, and for high-res or render-heavy imaging or compositing. Use Photoshop's Define Pattern and Fill Pattern to seamlessly repeat the resulting texture.

3 - Edge Anarchy. Edge Anarchy is a filter that?s designed to create textured, distressed, or ornamental borders around images and text.
You can use the materials you create in Texture Anarchy to manipulate the edges of images, adding color and texture, and distorting the image.

Great features of Texture Anarchy.
Each of the Texture Anarchy filters provides a different output of seamless procedural textures. But all three filters have similar functions and interface setup. Once you learn one, the others make more sense. Here is a list of some common (and very cool) features in the interface, tools, and concepts.

>> The Lighting Editor.
An important component of all the Texture Anarchy filters is the lights. With the Lighting Editor, you can add up to four Lights, change the lighting direction, adjust highlights, set shadow colors, and more. It?s a very sophisticated, versatile lighting model. You work in pseudo-3D space; the textures aren?t really 3D, but the lights create a bump map, which gives the appearance of depth.

>> The Color Editor.
While shiny metallic textures will rely more on lights, your organic, earthy textures will rely more on their inherent colors. In the Color channel's Deep Noise Editor, wherever the noise has the various shades of gray, it will take on the appropriate colors. Dark areas take on dark hues, gray values fit the mid-tones, and white takes the lightest color.

>> Use Bump maps.
In the Bump Well, you mix a grayscale image that acts as a 3D element for the final texture. A bump map is a way of simulating the appearance of texture or 3D relief on a surface. You apply one gray image to another image, and recalculate their pixels. White makes peaks, or the highest ?bumps?. Black makes valleys, or a shallow relief. The range of grays in between maps accordingly. Lght gray is higher, dark gray is shallower, and no relief occurs at 50% gray.
