A sinister evil has come to the peaceful kingdom of Keanor, a land of beauty, mystery, and magic. The palace lies in ruins. Armies of malevolent warriors sweep through the countryside while the once-proud Imperial Guard cowers in fear. The citizens of Keanor flee their homes in terror, praying for the rise of the one true leader who, it was foretold, would lead them against the armies of darkness. Are you the hero they seek? Tzar puts you at the heart of the battle of good versus evil. Set in the real-time fantasy world of Keanor, where the sword is the law of the land, it is up to you to stop the armies of evil. Recruit, train, and command vast armies of knights and archers, and build fantastic weapons to smash enemy defenses. Train your wizards to unleash their arcane powers against your foes, or conjure mighty dragons, jinni, and undead to do your bidding. Tzar: The Burden of the Crown is a real-time strategy game in which you must recover the rightful leadership of Keanor. | Half-Life: Blue Shift |
Games |
| |
Half-Life is still considered the finest single-player 3-D shooter ever made, and with good reason. No other game has combined nail-biting tension, truly alien aliens, and devious artificial intelligence in as complete a package as Valve's masterpiece. Sierra has kept Half-Life on countless hard drives by publishing the excellent multiplayer Counter-Strike modification, but Half-Life was originally all about the single-player game--the sci-fi action story of research assistant Gordon Freeman. The first Half-Life expansion pack, Opposing Force, concentrated on the military Special Ops side of the same story, and featured Colonel Adrian Shepherd. The new Half-Life: Blue Shift episode highlights security guard Barney Calhoun's adventure during Black Mesa's extradimensional catastrophe. Like Adrian, Barney encounters much the same creatures as his predecessor, but in different situations and locales than you've seen before, some located as far away from Black Mesa as you can get. Unlike Opposing Force, Blue Shift doesn't feature any new weapons or monsters; oddly, it doesn't even feature the new creatures introduced in Opposing Force. With Blue Shift, you get Barney's adventures, a new high-definition graphics pack that dramatically improves the look of the weapons and characters in all Half-Life games, and the entire Opposing Force expansion pack (there's also a rebate for those who already own Opposing Force). It's obviously geared toward fans that bought the Counter-Strike online package and want to see why the single-player Half-Life is hailed as the best action game ever. Even though the technology is fundamentally three years old, Blue Shift proves the Half-Life series is still about tension, story, horrible monsters (both human and alien), and fantastic combat in a sci-fi setting. Want more Half-Life? Get Blue Shift. Pros: * A new Half-Life episode starring Barney! * Also comes with the complete Opposing Force expansion * The high-definition weapons and creature graphics look great * High-definition pack improves the look of all Half-Life episodes |

| Star Trek: Armada II |
Games |
| |
Product Description Star Trek: Armada 2 is the sequel to the Star Trek real-time strategy title Star Trek: Armada. An innovative RTS, Star Trek: Armada 2 adds a new level of strategy and realism to the original by allowing players to command from a 3-D tactical view. Set in The Next Generation universe, the game's story unfolds through three single-player campaigns from the Federation, Klingon, and Borg perspective. Additionally, the Cardassians, Romulans, and Species 8472 will join the fray throughout. The sequel also features more armada than before. Sweeping 3-D gameplay immerses gamers in a universe of space, supremacy, and survival with more ships, longer campaigns, and all-out battles. You can arrange fleets in many different 3-D formations with up to 16 ships, which dramatically affect strategic and tactical decisions. The outcome of every encounter depends on the player's ability to manage resources, crew, and fleets of ships across the galaxy. Players command the fleets of three different races through three separate single-player campaigns for a total of 30 missions. Additionally, gamers can take control of six separate races in multiplayer mode. Each has divergent combat styles and tactical approaches. Other noncombatant aliens such as the Ferengi make for willing trade partners. Gamers become fully immersed in the explosive battles with the addition of the tactical view mode, a ship-to-ship combat viewer that allows you to control fleets from on top of the action. |
